Sun Dog, Cameron Park

Posted by
Linda Candilas (Cameron Park, United States) on 25 March 2019 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Today I saw this most perfect Sun Dog, it was straight up above me so I couldn't put any background in it, but all by its self it tell a amazing story. If you notice there are two, one on the outer sides, I could't believe my eyes so I took mutable photographs to make sure I and my camera was seeing the same thing. Wow

I looked the definition up, A sun dog or mock sun, formally called a parhelion in meteorology, is an atmospheric optical phenomenon that consists of a bright spot to one or both sides of the Sun. Two sun dogs often flank the Sun within a 22° halo. Wikipedia
